Experienced WordPress and/or Web Developer
INTERN or VOLUNTEER - Experienced WordPress and/or Web Developer
We are looking for somebody who knows his or her way around the inner workings of WordPress and has the ability to create custom apps or extensions to support our various marketing initiatives.
Beyond wordpress, you may also be tasked with managing our customer databases, email marketing platforms and other technologies used in supporting the event planning and execution.
You’ll report to the CIO as well as work with the core TEDxNavesik team to implement our initiatives and contribute insights to improve our overall functionality and customer experience.
Primarily this means working with the current WordPress theme and create new pages and layouts as requested/needed, tag, (re) organize pages and layout.
This may also include preparing digital assets for uploading into the site (resizing and cropping images, etc.)
The ideal candidate already knows WordPress inside and out and can dive right in with minimal hand holding, however, we will also consider others with demonstrably similar web site management skills.
Should be self-starter and able to work independently after being briefed.
The ability to stick to deadlines and deal with tight turnarounds
Optimize and maintain WordPress using standard themes and admin functionality
Ability to understand and contribute to functional requirements and translate them new wordpress pages
Bonus points for the following:
Experience with troubleshooting WordPress installations (familiar with FTP, lightweight database admin) a big plus
High degree of comfort with web technologies in general, including the ability to review and recommend other technologies (such as community platforms, etc.) is highly desirable.
Knowledge of Photoshop, layout and design a big plus
